Care Instructions for Alpensattel Products
How to properly care for your Alpensattel products
To ensure your Alpine saddle and functional clothing last a long time and work reliably, proper care is essential. With a few simple steps, you can protect them from wear, weather, and loss of function.
Here you will learn:
1. How to properly care for your Alpine saddle – from cleaning to storage to protection against the weather.
2. How to optimally treat your functional clothing – for durable, breathable, and weatherproof gear.
How to properly care for your Alpensattel
1. Cleaning
Wipe the saddle regularly with a damp cloth – this removes dust, sweat, or splash water.
- If needed, you can use a little mild soap or bike cleaner.
- Then wipe with clean water and dry thoroughly.
- Important: Do not use harsh cleaning agents or scouring pads – they can damage the surface material.
2. Protect from weather
Do not leave it standing in the rain for hours: Even if the saddle is weatherproof, the padding can soak up water – this affects comfort and durability.
- Do not leave it in direct sunlight permanently: UV radiation can make the material brittle or cause discoloration over time.
- Tip: Use our water-repellent saddle cover or cover the bike if it will be outside for a long time.
3. Proper Storage
The best place for your bike is in the carport, garage, or bike cellar – that is, dry, shaded, and protected.
- For longer periods of non-use: cover the bike or protect the saddle separately.
Care Instructions for Functional Clothing
1. Before Washing
Turn clothing inside out to protect the surfaces.
Brush off or knock off coarse dirt beforehand, especially on gloves.
2. Wash
Do not use fabric softener – it destroys the breathable membrane and the water-repellent surface.
- Do not use regular detergent or bleach. Instead, use mild detergent or special technical detergent.
- Do not wash together with strongly colored garments.
3. Drying
Do not tumble dry.
- Instead: Air dry at room temperature, preferably laid flat and not directly on the heater.
4. Care after washing
Refresh waterproofing: Especially for waterproof clothing, it can be useful to renew the waterproofing with a spray after several washes
5. Storage
Do not store damp! Clothing should be completely dry before you put it away – preferably in a dry, airy place, not in a plastic bag or box.
Do not store crumpled to preserve the function of membranes and coatings.
Do not place on heater:
Better to let dry at room temperature; excessive heat can weaken the insulation.
